Kadan is very well known for their beautiful attraction, which is the Kochou Gardens. It is basically just a giant maze made out of a wide variety of plants and flowers. Butterflies are usually seen fluttering about, which is how the gardens got its name. At the center of this green maze is a little gazebo which always seems empty since many would get lost in the maze trying to find it. Couples, as well as children playing in the maze, are usually found in these gardens.

Yatsuuko stood at the gazebo in the dead center of the Kochou Gardens, admiring the vast maze of the flowers surrounding him, getting the serene feeling he normally received from being in such a beautiful place. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply through his nostrils to smell the large number of scents the flowers would make. This was a way he could feel at home away from the office desk of the Niwakage's place of work. Among the flowers, and sometimes, with a little bit of company. He looked over to a small group of flowers and noticed that they seemed a little under-watered. He sighed and left the gazebo to give them the sufficient amount they needed to look their best.

He put his hands together with the index and middle finger of each hand upward as he approached the flowers, focusing his chakra on the air around him. After a short amount of time, the moisture in the air was combining to create several large orbs of water that were hovering over Yatsuuko's targets. He then released the chakra and allowed the water to burst out of their orb-like shape and water the plants. He let out a deep breath as he released his hands from one another and smiled.
"There. That should do it." He bowed to the plants and headed over to another group to examine their health, just in case this problem was among them.

After a short time of finding no problems, he headed back to the gazebo to take a seat and rest a short time before returning to his office to finish some work. He sat down on a benc and leaned back, closing his eyes and smiling to himself. Soon after, Yatsuuko dozed into a half-asleep state.

The day in Kadan was warm, but beautiful as always. The time was near noon, and all was silent throughout the maze except for the birds chirping and the light breeze rustling the tall, leafy bushes that was the maze. Somewhere wandering around was a young woman that went by the name of Hana. She appeared to be a bit lost with the way she was going back and forth through various trails.

This young woman's appearance was a bit strange. She had on a dark gray jacket, with some black capris to go with it, but that was not the odd thing about her. She had long blue hair, and according to what she had said to a few couples she had happened to walk by, it was naturally like that.

She soon came across a dead end, and then retraced her steps until she found another trail she had not taken yet. There was a hawk perched on her shoulder, and a small, wooden basket being carried by her delicate hands. Her bright green eyes wandered about as she came to a clear, circular area with a pond at the center of it, and many other paths branching off from this area. Hana looked around for a bit before choosing to take one of the trails at the right. After a few more moments of wandering about, the girl eventually came across a gazebo.

There was a light snow of cherry blossom petals from the trees around the the wooden structure, covering the ground with the soft velvet of pink. There were a couple of flowerbeds here and there, but mostly surrounding the gazebo. In the little summerhouse, the blue-haired konoichi could see a figure sitting alone in one of the seats.

"Oh, I thought I'd find you here!" The young girl was just about to make her way toward the gazebo, but suddenly stopped and took a step back. Seeing as the kage had fallen asleep, Hana was afraid that she might have disturbed a much needed and peaceful nap. It was hard not to doze in a place like this. It was so quiet and comfortable.

Yatsuuko wasn't quite in a true sleep when the girl had approached him, but he figured it was just another passerby. If he had really needed to protect himself, he had a kunai in his left hand, covered by the sleeve of his kimono. At the sound of her voice, he settled from preparing for an attempt on his life and opened one eye to let her know he was awake. He closed the eye again after seeing the blue hair and smiled. "Yeah, it's hard not to find me here..." He leaned forward and stretched, opening and closing his eyes rapidly to let them slowly adjust from the darkness of his eyelids to the sunlight projecting from the skies.

Once again, he opened his eyes and turned to Hana.
"The flowers here are just too beautiful to not visit." He looked out toward the flowers again, finding a wave of them being brushed over by a brief gust of wind. He outreached his arms to either side as this gust came by to feel the cool breeze and inhaled to catch a breath mixed with all or most of the scents these flowers produced. The pale blue kimono he was wearing rustled elegantly at the rush of this wind. He exhaled deeply and walked by Hana, out of the gazebo. Tilting his head in her direction, he asked, "So, why is it you wanted to find me?" He adjusted his silver hair as he said this, pulling it back past his shoulders with only a few strands hanging over his forehead.

The young chuunin watched as the kage made his way toward her, and as he neared, she bowed her head to him, with strands of her blue hair falling in front of her face. Like most villagers in Kadan, Hana respected this man greatly. Raising her head again, she looked toward Yatsuuko with a smile.

"Good day, Niwakage-sama. Sorry if I disturbed you." she said. "It's already noon, so I thought I'd bring you some lunch." Hana held up the small, wooden basket that she had been carrying around the maze as she wandered around. It should contain a container of tea and a bento box, wrapped in a floral pattern piece of fabric.

There was a hawk circling above the girl's head, the same one that had been perched on her shoulder earlier. The animal flew down and landed on the basket Hana had been holding up.

"Oh, and this little guy happened to come by when I was at your office!" Now what was she doing at his office? Well, when she is not busy with any missions, Hana would mostly be found lingering around the Niwakage's office, acting as a little assistant of some sort. She would help get a few things organized, or water the many plants that decorated the rooms. This girl was quite helpful, actually.

With its narrow eyes, the hawk squawked as it flapped its great wings, taking off into the air again but not very high up. The bird flew above the man's head, showing a small scroll that had been tied securely on its leg with a golden ribbon. What ever was written on it was sealed, so those who were to look at this scroll would see nothing but blank paper. In order to read the message, a kage such as Yatsuuko would have to remove the seal himself.

Yatsuuko fully turned around as she spoke, giving her his full attention. He chuckled and shook his head. "No, you didn't disturb me at all. In fact, you saved me from falling asleep and not returning to my office until late." He looked at the basket and smiled. "I thank you for doing that." He made a small, appreciative bow to her and eyed the hawk as it rose into the sky.

He noticed the small scroll attached to its leg and asked,
"My office, huh? Well, let's see why it came by..." He held out his left arm with his forearm parallel to the ground and made a loud but very short whistle. Hearing this, the hawk floated down to perch itself on his forearm. The talons were somewhat filed, so they didn't quite tear into his skin, but they certainly made small puncture holes in the sleeve in his kimono. At this point, he almost wished he had pulled the sleeve back before he'd allowed it to land, but there was no changing that.

He lowered his arm and stroked the back of the bird with his right index finger, then reached down to untie the ribbon from the hawks leg. The scroll fell right into his hands and he examined the seal on it quickly. The Niwakge then stroked the bird one more time and said under his breath,
"I wish we were back at my office... I'd normally have a snack for you or something for your troubles there."

He moved his arm slightly and the hawk lifted itself from it, landing now on his shoulder. He smiled to it and looked down at the scroll in his hand again. Opening it, he stated, "Kouhyou suru," and the message appeared clearly for him to read.

(( I'm not quite sure if you have something prepared for what's on the message or not, so I'll stop there. ))

Rubbing the back of her head, a very light shade of pink appeared on Hana's face at the kage's bow, the color being hardly noticeable unless one looked hard enough. The young chuunin held onto the basket as she watched Yatsuuko read the message on the scroll.

~

Dear Niwakage-san,
I am not quite sure if you have heard of this yet, but there had been quite a few problems with a group trying to obtain possession of the five legendary weapons. They have yet to come to Tenpi, but they have been causing trouble for an old friend of mine. Two shinobi had also attacked the wielder of the zanbato, and may be a part of that group. Luckily, the one they had found was only a decoy. I ask you to be more careful, especially since we do not know much of this group or this abilities. Someone is paying a visit during the festival soon, someone who may know more about this said group, so I will be writing to you again soon.

Yatsuuko read it twice before pocketing it and sighing. He looked over to Hana, who was waiting patiently while he read the message. He smiled slightly and said, "Why don't we go back to my office. With the papers probably stacking on my desk, I'm most likely going to have to eat there. I've already spent too much time here..." He turned toward the hawk, still perched upon his shoulder. It's eyes were nice to gaze upon with the distorted reflection of the flowers around them. He could've easily gotten lost in this view, but prevented such case by looking back to Hana to see if she had any input.

"Oh, of course! Alright!" Hana replied. "But you know, it is completely understandable if you ended up dozing off here. With the position of kage, you must not have much rest at all, is that right Niwakage-sama?" Now that she had spoken of it, the girl never did see the kage relaxing much. He was mostly seen at his office, with stacks of papers waiting for him on top of his desk. It was nice that Hana had seen him at least dozing off for a bit here, in the garden's gazebo. Unfortunately, the blue-haired girl had disturbed that possibly nap...

"Might you need any help in organizing or something else? I'd be happy to assist you with your work!"

Yatsuuko looked at her and chuckled at her enthusiastic reply. Of course she had wanted to go; she'd always been found in his office, organizing paperwork and whatnot for him. The amazing thing of it was that she never really asked or mentioned that she'd do it for him, she just happened to start doing it once and continued it on a near-daily basis. He thought of it as a responsibility developing technique, but that was simply a rationalization. He was just too lazy to tell her to stop because it was his job. After all, he never really liked the paperwork involved in being the Kage, it was just expected of him.

"On the contrary, I get lots of rest as the Niwakage... It's just when I either get bored of my work or need a break from it," he replied with a guilty grin on his face. "If I chose only to get rest when the papers in my office were dealt with, I don't think I'd ever get to sleep. It's all for the village though, so it needs to be done." He looked out into the many given paths through the labyrinth of flowers and started toward one of the openings.

Turning back to Hana, he said,
"I really could use some help with that, thank you." He smiled and turned around once more, this time facing their exit path. He inhaled deeply through his nostrils and picked up the many aromas of the flowers one last time before heading in that direction, with the hawk flying lowly above him.

WHERE AM I?!

Meanwhile, a girl whose hair was as green as the leaves of Kochou Gardens wandered while wearing a confused expression. The maze walls reached probably three feet over her head. She didn't want to waste chakra to find her way out either. However she had gotten lost for several hours now...

Sad, why me?

Once the girl thought she had found the exit, the next turn only led her to a dead end. All Hanazawa, Jishin had to do was pick up an item someone had lost at the maze's center. Yet, the tall shrubbery and plant life there distracted her enough to forget about her map. It was easy for her to get lost.

"At this rate I'll be able to find my way out once it's morning of tomorrow!"

Hana had a smile on her face as she stayed behind the kage, following silently as the basket in her hands lightly swung from side to side. The blue-haired konoichi wondered what work was needed to be done at the office today. There was probably some more paper work.

As the two walked down the path, the chuunin just happened to look down one of the other paths they were passing. She stopped as she spotted a girl with green hair at one of the dead-ends. With the look on her face, Hana could tell that the girl was lost. Hana looked toward Yatsuuko, who seemed to be walking ahead. Looking back at the lost girl, Hana walked into the dead-end and approached her.

"Er... Hello? I seem... Lost..." said Hana as she stood behind the lost girl. "If you are, I can help you get around if you'd like!" The konoichi smiled. She did not know the maze completely, but she did know how to get to the gazebo and back... Sort of. If Hana was not paying full attention, she could get easily lost until she finds her way back on the right path. It should not be hard showing this girl to the exit of the maze, if that is what she was looking for. All they had to do was get out of this dead-end and follow the path she and the kage were taking.

Yatsuuko was looking up at the sky as he and Hana were leaving Kochou Gardens, every-so-often taking a look back for Hana. One of the few times he looked back, he noticed her not being present. He turned completely around and bolted his head from side to side, in hopes she was just sticking to one of the walled sides. Realizing that this wasn't the case, he sighed and gripped his kunai once again. Then he headed back the way they'd already ventured in hopes that she was on one of the side routes.

He looked down three paths before finding her, noticing another next to her. Before heading down in that direction, he slipped the kunai deeper into his hand so the sleeve of his kimono would conceal it. He then walked down toward the two, keeping tabs on his surroundings cautiously.
"Hey, Hana... Why'd you just wander off like that? You could've easily gotten lost and I'd have to take the blame for it." His voice had a comforting tone to it, so he wouldn't display any kind of mistaken emotion, like anger. He smiled and looked over to the other girl. "And who might you be?"

"I'm sorry for not formally introducing myself. My name is Hanazawa, Jishin, but people just call me Shii-chan. It's a pleasure to meet you two! Actually, I'm a bit lost... Someone had asked me to go to where the center of the garden's maze was and retrieve an item they've lost. I haven't lived in Kadangakure for very long and lost the map I was using to show me the way. In fact I still haven't reached the center yet." The girl announced, casting her gaze to the ground. She took a deep breath before speaking again out of nervousness.
"This may seem kind of rude to people you've just met, but is it possible for you to take me to the garden's gazebo and outside?"

Before the forest-haired girl could reply, Hana could hear the voice of Yatsuuko coming from behind. The kage was so kind; he went back to look for her just because he was worried that she would get lost again. That was one of the main things she liked about him; his kindness. Hana bowed her head and replied to him.

"Ah, Niwakage-sama... Gomen nasai..." she said. "You didn't have to go through the trouble of looking for me, though, I should have said something before I wondered off." With that said, the blue-haired girl turned her head to speak to Jishin.

"It's nice to meet you, Hanazawa-san. I'd be happy to lead you to the gazebo. It shouldn't be too far away from here, so I should know the way back there." She smiled. Hana had not mentioned the Niwakage coming along since she thought he would have better things to do than wander around a maze with two girls.
