Fun in the maze

It was so nice to get away from the village for a while, a nice diserved vacation for squad Kasumi. Being the spring, the team had decided to go to Kadangakure; the village known for it's many beautiful gardens and flower feilds....as well as heir world-reknown master florists.

Ichijin had taken Kansou with him to the famous Kochou gardens for a picnic and a little R&R in the maze....

"C'mon Kan, we're almost there." Ichijin yanked on Kansou's thin wrist as he trailed behind the silver-headed, picnic basket toting boy. He slowed as the couple passed by gardens surrounding the path to the maze. Ichijin literally had to drag his partner along the path to the pinic benches infront of the enterance of the beautiful maze for lunch.

"You do know I have strawberries packed, don't you?" Ichijin stated, hoping to hurry the brunette. Kansou perked his head and hurried behind.

As his silver-headed partner rushed, Kansou wanted to literally stop and smell the roses. Kadangakure was such a peaceful and beautiful place; It was always spring around here, and the flowers were simply amazing. The brunette wanted to take his time wandering around the village, but as Ichijin rushed into the maze, Kansou was being dragged along.

"Ichiiii..." he whined as he looked at the flowerbeds they were passing by. "Let's slow down and smell the roses!"

It was then that the man had mentioned strawberries, and being the one that could practically live off of the berries, Kansou perked his head up and picked up his pace, now fast enough so he was not being dragged around anymore. His wrist had started to ache from being pulled around...

"Hey Ichi, did you get those strawberries from here? I hear the fruits in Kandan are one of the best!" At the thought of those strawberries, the brunette's mouth would begin to water as he imagined himself taking a bite into one.

"Mmmm, you'll have to find out." Ichijin, with every last attempt to rile up his partner enough to hurry, said with a sly grin.

He slipped his hand down the brunette's wrist and entangled their fingers gently as he slowed the pace just a tad bit slower than what he had been dragging Kansou at. Ichijin could see the picnic benches just ahead of them so he slowed down a bit more to satisfy his partner.

a few minutes later, and a few stops to...well, smell roses...later, they arrived at a beautiful hardwood bench, probably hand carved and assembled by one of the crafters in the village. There was a line of sakura trees next to the bench, all of them in full bloom, just beginning to shower the area with light pink petals.

"This is a nice spot, eh?" Ichijin smiled and sat the picnic basket down and began to unpack their lunch.

As Ichijin stopped to set up the picnic, Kansou's bright golden eyes wandered around the area, looking at every last detail of the gardens. He could not even answer his partner's question because of how beautiful the scenery was. It was raining sakura petals, and there were butterflies fluttering about, possibly mating. The sakura tree back at home would never compare to something like this!

Ichijin was unpacking their lunch, so the brunette decides to peek at what was inside of the maze for a bit. He figured that he would be back by the time the silver-headed man was done. Entering the maze, Kansou followed the path that would lead him around. He was getting deeper and deeper into the maze, turning at forks and such. Little did he know that he was going to get lost, or he already was. Kansou is the king of getting separated from Ichijin and getting lost.

Ichijin finished up unpacking the couples lunch onto the table and arranged place settings, complete with actual silverware instead of the run-of-the-mill chopsticks. Silverware was so much more romantic. He turned only to find the brunette missing.

"Of course...." Ichijin sighed and sat down. Might as well take in the scenery while he waits for Kansou to some how un-lose himself. He'd give him 10 minutes tops.

Mean while, inside the maze, at the large wooden gazebo; a young blonde man could be seen, watering some of the plants surrounding the wooden structure.

"That should help." He smiled to himself, as he gazed lovingly at a patch of beautiful red rose trellises. Only fitting that he'd take care of what he had planted the summer before. Hachimitsu, the name the blonde went by, walked around with a small pair of pruning shears, slowly picking off any dead growth, and a few beautiful blooms for himself.

It has roughly been about fifteen minutes since Kansou had wandered into the maze, and it was now time for him to go back. After watching a few butterflies flutter out of a rose bush, the brunette turned around and followed the trail that he was just coming from. It was when he came to a fork in the maze that he realized that he did not know where he was going. Taking a guess, Kansou turned left.

After a good couple of minutes, the brunette realizes that he is hopelessly lost, as had begun to just wander around more in hopes that he would eventually find the exit.

"Ichi! I got lost!" he said loudly. If he was close enough to where he started, Ichijin should hear his voice.

Kansou turned a few corners, going back and forth and hoping to avoid dead-ends. Soon enough, he came across a gazebo, painted white, and surrounded by a flowerbed which consisted of plants that he had never seen before in his life. Sakura petals from the tree next to it were dancing around in the breeze, and through that light pink snow, Kansou could see a fair-haired man, a gardener according to the shears he possessed. Kansou called out to get his attention.

"Excuse me!" said the brunette as he made his way toward the gazebo. The man should know the way out of the maze if he is tending the gardens here. Maybe he could help him. "Sorry to bother you, but do you know the way out of here?"

Hachimitsu continued to prune some of the very rare blooms, picking a few fully bloomed specimines for himself. "You guys are absolutely beautiful this year." He cooed gently, examining the fresh picked blossoms.

He continued on with his task until a voice from behind called out to him. Hachi turned around to face a short, fair-skinned brunette asking for his assistance out of the maze. "Hello" He greeted before answering the boy's question. "I can show you the way out of the maze, no problem." Hachimitsu smiled gently.

"I'm Hatchimitsu, may I ask what your name is?" He bowed lightly and waited for a response.

"Hachimitsu... That name sounds sweet!" the brunette complimented with a smile. He loved meeting new people, especially by himself. He remembered, back in his academy days, he never had many friends until he met Ichijin, who started introducing him to others. Most of Kansou's friends now were introduced by someone who was already his friend, and it was not very likely that the brunette would make friends all by himself.

"I'm Kansou! It's a pleasure to meet you, Hachi-san!" Kansou politely returned the man's bow.

"Thank you, Kansou...was it?" Hachimitsu smiled and cleared his throat. "Would you care for a flower? I just picked them." He offered out a single white rose he had clipped from the trellis just moments before his encounter. "It's a tradition of this village to present new friends with a flower." he smiled eagerly as he waited on the brun-- Kansou's response, it was not often he met someone as lovely as this boy was.

"Oh! Why thank you!" Kansou said as he took the rose that had been offered to him. Flowers were so beautiful and delicate, and he loved receiving them. Slightly spinning the flower between his thumb and his fingers, the brunette looked at Hachimitsu and spoke again.

"So, I see you're a gardener here. Is this the best part of the maze? Or are there others?"

"You're quite welcome." Hachi smiled again and bent over behind him to pick up a few more flowers lying one the gazebo steps.

"Mm, actually, there are several "best" parts of the maze. This is just one of my most favorite spots. I planted most of these flowers here." He stopped and thought for a moment. "If you're not set on leaving the maze right away; I could show you the other spots, all your choice, of course."

"Wow, you planted these you say? You did a great job in taking care of them!" Kansou replied with a smile. It was then that Hachimitsu offered to show him around, which the brunette would have to refuse. It was not that he did not want to, he would loved to see other spots of the maze, but he needed to get back to Ichijin soon before he starts to worry.

"I'd love to see the other parts of this maze, but I was kind of with someone... And got separated... Sort of..." He and Ichijin did not really get separated. Kansou just decided to wander off all by himself while his partner was busy. He just happened to get lost, as expected to those who knew him. "And I don't want you to waste too much of your time on me. I'm sure you probably have better things to do."

"Yes, and thank you very much. My plants love getting compliments." Hachi said with a slight chuckle. His spirits dampened slightly as Kansou explained that he was with someone, and declined his offer of showing him the maze.

"O-oh well, maybe another time? And you're not wasting my time, don't worry." Hachimitsu tried to sound as sincere as possible to the sweet brunette. He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand and smiled slightly. "If you say you were sperated, then I should probably show you back to the entrance, right?" he cleared his throat again "I'm sure who ever you're with is missing you right now." He thought to himself 'I know I would.'

He offered out his free hand. "May I show you you're way back? I can show you a few landmarks that will help you back if you ever get lost here again."

Ichijin sighed.

"Twenty freaking five minutes now." He was twirling his salad fork around on the napkin laid across his plate. "I should probably go look for him." Ichijin had become worried. Not only was Kansou most likely lost in the maze, but ichijin had no clue if he was okay or not.

Plus, Ichijin was tired of waiting for his partner. He was hungry, and the picnic lunch looked so delicious.

"Thanks! That would be great!" Kansou replied with a smile on his face. He then looked down at the extended hand, unsure of what he should do. Oh well, might as well grab it. There was another chance that he was going to get lost again unless someone who knows what they are doing has a hold of him. Slowly, the brunette took Hachimitsu's hand and waited for him to lead the way.

Hachimitsu was careful not to hold Kansou's hand the wrong way as he led him the way to the exit. A turn left past a dead end, down a corridor, two turns right past a opening with beautiful planters filled with exotic plants, left past a foutain, and straight to another opening. "This is my favorite landmark." Hachimitsu pointed out a greek-styled statue of the god Apollo playing a small harp-like instrument.

Passing the statue he took one more left and then lead the brunette down a long winding passage to the exit gate, just a few 100 feet from the entrance. "And that is how you exit the maze." He smiled and gently let go to Kansou's small hand.

Ichijin heard footsteps and a voice from behind him, he turned to see none other than Kansou, and a blonde stranger letting go of his hand.

"Finally." Ichijin got up and wlaked over to his partner with a half grin. "Who's your friend?" He asked, placing his hands casually in his pockets.
