Umikage's Office

Subject: Umikage's Office Sun Nov 04, 2007 1:31 am

A tall, stone tower located at the far end of the underwater village would be the Umikage's office. It has many levels, with the actual office being on the very top as it should be. There are no stairs in this rock building; only a structure similar to an elevator. It is made out of a steel platform, and operated manually by a rope wrapped around a wheel.

Yasou Hokousha stood facing the large glass pane behind his large stone desk, looking out at his beloved village. Both of his hands where folded atop the waste high, knarled wooden walking stick infront of him. His face and arms had the look of a man in his mid thirties, but his deep sea foam green eyes betrayed an ancient wisdom well beyond his years. He stood lost in thought as the people below him went about there daily lives, unconcerned of the events about to unfold.
Behind him stood a very large man dressed in a baggy white sleeveless shirt and extremely baggy white pants. Indeed this individual looked more like a mountain than a man at an imposing 7 feet tall. His round bald head was just as tanned as the rest of his enormous body and his dark moss green eyes where constantly in motion.

The Umikage spoke softly, his voice like the sweat sound of an underground river.
"The time has come my friend." the sound of his voice was ampliphied by the wonderful acoustics of the stone room.
"The search for the staff must begin soon for I feel there is not much time remaining."
The larger of the two nodded in response to his masters words.
Yasou turned from the window to face his dark stone desk. His face was seemed flawless as his long jet black hair swept around his face. Once it settled it revealed a long scar across his forehead and a short cropped jet beard.
He reached down to his desk and picked up a large tanned piece of parchment. After reading it over one last time he rolled it up and extended his hand.
"Take this and post it in the town square. Then head to the Arena and prepare for the test."
He finished speaking as the giant man moved to recieve the roll of parchment, then he turned and walked to the waiting elevator and the operator waiting inside.
"I shall join you soon my friend." the Umikage called as the elevator began to decend.
Once it was out of sight the he turned back to his window to watch those below. The automatic lamps that served to light the caves where just now begining to shine there brightest, signifying that noon was close at hand.
'A very interesting time is ahead of us my friend.' he thought as he began to get lost in thought.

Hayaku the slowly got up feeling a pain in his right calve but it would be fine. He then began to walk over to the limp old man and lifted him up, he then dropped down onto the windowsill of the Kages window and jumped into the Kages office laying the man on the floor in front of him.

Yasuo sat, cross legged, on a mat facing a large statue of some form of Water Kami. The statue was very large, reaching up to the top of the room, and crafted entirely of what appeared to be some for of blue crystal. On either side of the breath taking monument was an elaborately carved coral candelabrum that was about half the height of the statue. Each of the spectacular coral pieces held three pearl colored candles that shimmered when lit, providing a singular light source for the entire room. In the dim candle light the magnificent crystal monument appeared to ebb and flow like the very tide of the great oceans. In fact if one were to loose themselves in this sight they might swear that they could hear the waves breaking against the moon lit shores above. This provided for a truly breathtaking sight.
The great Umikage simply sat there, his back to the window and the young man that now crouched before it. This did not mean, however, that he was unaware of the newcomers’ presents.
"I see that you have acomplished your mission." He spoke softly while keeping his back turned to the young man.
"I trust you did not find the task too dificult."

Hayaku stood silent for a few moments then replied “He was hard to find but one of the easiest catches I have ever had.”

He then brought the old man to an open chair in the office and sat him down,
He reached into his still wet pouch and pulled out a needle and a small vial which he dipped the end of the needle in and carefully inserted it into the spine of the old man,
He then backed away a few feet and waiting for a few seconds.

The old man slowly started to move his fingertips which felt like boulders to him.
He then tried to run toward the open window but as soon as he had stood up he had fallen to the floor with an unexpected slam.

“Oh I forgot to tell you… the poison wont be totally out of your system until tomorrow I just injected another one that would give you minor motor control but you wont be walking for a bit.”
Hayaku said smiling at the old man lying on the floor moaning.

Slowly and gracefully the Umikage stood, and with one fluid motion he moved to crouch beside the fallen captive. His right hand quickly shot forward and grabbed the back of the older mans head. Then he slowly lifted the poor mans face off of the floor as he lowered his own to the ear of the captive.
“Good to see you again,” his voice was unusually venomous, “old friend.”
He abruptly let go of his prisoners head and it promptly fell back to the floor.
The Umikage stood up straight and faced his young hunter, “You have done well.” The tone of his voice had shifted back to the kind and warm tone all in the village knew as he placed his hand on the young mans shoulder. “I now have a new task for you my talented young friend. It, as well as your reward, shall be waiting with your new partner at the cavern entrance tomorrow morning. Please take this night to rest so that you may be in top condition.”
He slowly removed his hand from the young mans shoulder and turned around to examine his new prize.

As Hyoujin approached the Kages building he looked to the right to see some stone shingles on the ground shattered and broken.
"What could have happened on the roof to remove shingles?" he thought to himself.

As he disregarded his thoughts and began to climb the stars to his friend and leaders office he put his bow in the small black leather strap on his hip.

When he finally approached the door to the Kages office he knocked twice and peeked his head in.

"Hows my old friend today?" Hyoujin asked with a great smile on his face.
he then entered to approach the man in the room.

The old Umikage sat behind his stone desk his hands sifting through some papers on it.
"Welcome home my friend." he said with looking up.
His massive bodyguard loomed behind him, a blank look on his face.
"Come in, we must talk." he motioned to the chair in front of him.

"Did you bring the item?"

Hyoujin walked toward the table reaching into the largest compartment in his bag,
he then pulled his hand from the sack wielding a medium sized brown oak box with a large ruby embedded in the top.
when he got to the table he set the box down opening the lid to reveal the object inside.
"Wouldn't have trusted it to anyone else would you?" he said knowing he had retrieved the object in a very short amount of time.

The Lord Umikage smiled as his eyes shone with delight as the gazed at the precious item within.
It was a small jade orb. Perfectly smooth save for the azure engragings that were nearly microscopic on its glossy surface.
"Very good my friend." His old voice was filled with glee.

He finally tore his gaze from the item and looked the young man before him in the eyes.

"I do, however, have another task for you my friend. A very important one. You are to acquire a new pawn for our up coming game. His voice took on a slightly darker tone, as if to foreshadow what was to come.
"You must travel to Tenpigakure immediately and retrieve this young woman by any means necessary."

He held out a rolled up piece of parchment with a drawing of the young woman in question.

"My sources say that she has recently arrived in Tenpi. You must be swift, she tends to keep on the move.
I can only entrust this to you my friend. Take care to do this task well and quick."

Hyoujin sighed for a moment then turned around and began to walk towards the door.
"Anything for the village" he said a a jokingly sarcastic way.
he then chuckled to himself and waved to the two men still in the office and exited the building heading for tenpi.

Hyoujin Walked into the Unikages office after knocking to warn those inside of someone entering.
the bleeding had stopped but the dryed blood on his face and arm still needed to be seen by someone.
Hyoujin waved and smiled to the men in the room behind the big desk.
"I found you something" he mentioned to the Kage as he motioned someone on the outside of the door to come in.

Terra walked in and looked around the room before her eyes fell upon The Lord Umikage. A cold chill went down her back, but she forced her face to remain expressionless. She could sense the high chakra level coming off of this guy like a thick fog. She tilted her head and told herself to act natural.

Don't act so nervous, this guy isn't anything to fear compared to what you've already faced..

She looked over at Hyoujin and raised her right eyebrow again with a fake look of semi-interest

"So this is the old man you fetched me to see?"

Her eyes moved back over to The Lord Umikage.

"Alright geezer, I'm sure you didn't send for me to ramble on about random things like your every day grandpa... Whaddya want from me?"

She knew it sounded rude, but she needed to keep a 'not-so-soft' appeance or she had a feeling this guy was going to walk all over her like a doormat. She already let too much of it slip when she showed concern for Hyoujin's cut up face.

Hyoujin stood with respect in the Unikages office.
as the young girl started to speak his eyes widened then he began to laugh to himself looking at the Umikage.
Hyoujin wondered how he would take this from such a small girl.
"Will he take it as funny or out of order?" Hyoujin asked himself while trying to wipe the smile from his face.

The Lord Umikage sat silently behind his stone desk, looking over a report on village gains and losses, as his trusted friend entered the room with his target in tow.
When Hyoujin began to speak the older man silently set down the sheet and folded his old hands in front of him, resting them on the cool stone.
His face showed no emotion. The dimly lit room cast long shadows over his feature making him look even older than he was. His eyes appeared to give off a light all there own, full of a deep and forgotten wisdom. He was wrapped in his gray robes, his hood drawn back.
He listened, silently forming his thoughts, as the young woman before him began to speak.
It was obvious to the wise Kage just how nervous she was, even though she was trying to hide the fact behind a visage of bravado.
Gigiri let out a low growling sound in disaproval of the manner in which this child spoke to his lord and master.

After she had finished speaking the room remained silent for a moment. The tension began to build, indeed it felt as though the entire world hinged on this moment.
Finally the old man spoke. His voice as soft as a midsummer ocean breeze, and just as warm.

"I am so very glad you could make it my dear." His voice sounded genuine, honest, and very caring. Slowly, and with the creek of several old bones, he stood up from behind his desk.
As he walked around the the front of the large stone piece of furniture Gigiri re-situated himself to be close behind.
"I was worried that my friend would have a hard time locating you." He smiled a very warm smile.
"I am very glad he did not."

He paused for a moment before beginning again. "But where are my manners?" He motioned to the corner of the room, to four low set driftwood chairs set around a low blue coral table."Come, sit with me."
He slowly moved towards the nearest chair, leaning heavily and his gnarled wooden walking stick. He sat down with a slow another creek of bones and looking up to his large guard.
"Gigiri, please put some tea on." he politly asked the tall man before motioning once more the the chairs around him.
"Come, sit. We have much to discuss."
The large man nodded and ponderously walked from the room.
