Main Village

Ran woke up screaming, which scared the living daylights out of her pets, after a sudden noise came on. It was her alarm clock going off. She turned it off and looked at the time. It read 4:30 a.m. Ran got out of bed and dragged herself to the kitchen. Once, she got there, Ran put on her apron and walked over to the cabinets. She got out salt, sugar, sweet chestnuts, black beans, rice, terayaki sauce, potato starch, and mirin (sweet cooking wine). Ran put everything on the counter and then went over to the fridge. She got out non-glutinous rice flour, fish, kelp, eggs, shrimp, potatoes, young anchovies, sea scallops, seaweed, lettuce, and carrots. Ran also got out a cutting board and knife. She put everything on the counter with the rest of the ingredients. Ran cut all of the ingredients up and those that need to be cooked put were into pots and pans to be fried, baked, or boiled.

After all of the food was done be cooked or prepared, she put it into the red bento box with cherry blossoms on it that she bought yesterday. The bento also consisted of 4 sections like the one that got destroyed the day before. In the top bento, black beans and young dried anchovies. In the 1st middle, red and white fish cakes, egg omelet with white fish, egg omelet cooked in sugar and mirin, and mashed sweet potatoes with sweet chestnuts. Today Ran also added dango to the 1st middle. In the 2nd middle, grilled fish, cooked sea scallops, rolled kelp, and shrimp. In the bottom, rice, chicken and shrimp terayaki, sushi, egg rolls, and spring rolls. She made the green and white teas. It was the same as yesterday's bento except for the dango, but Ran didn't care.

She then decided to go take a shower. Ran took her shower and got dressed in her typical clothes. A black tank top, a black mini skirt, and black ninja shoes. She then brushed her hair and her pets' hair too. Ran wrapped up her bento, put it in her bag, gathered her pets and they all walked out her house while she locked the door. She walked down the street to the center of the village. By now it was around 7:30 a.m. Ran hoped to see Shugo again today. She wanted him to try her dango and also give him the new bento she made of what he had yesterday in the training grounds. Ran walked through the village until she spotted two boys drinking Coca-Cola. She thought one of them had to be Shugo, so she began walking over to the two boys. Her pets walking by her side, except of course, for Haru, who had his little body wrapped around Ran's shoulders like the night before.

Omezo sat there drinking the cola given to him by the young boy. When he saw out of the corner of his eye a woman walking towards the two of them. As a polite gesture he stood up to greet the woman as she grew closer to them perhaps offering his seat to her.
His mother had raised him to be very polite and proper and Omezo did not wish to dishonor her by doing otherwise.
As the woman approached however a loud booming sound could be herd off in the distance of the village.
Omezo turned his head swiftly in the direction of the loud noise hopefully to catch a site of what may have caused it.
Several thoughts did run through his head that that point. Was the village under attack? The explosion sounded as though it came from the direction of the training grounds. It would make sense for a potential enemy to attack there first. It would greatly cripple the village.
He did not think this very likely as the village did not have many enemies that he knew of.
He was worried none the less.

As Ran approached the two boys, the unfamiliar one stood up as if to greet her. She tilted her head to the side and smiled at the boy. When she reached them, there was a loud boom. Ran looked in the same direction as the other boy, but then returned to looking at the two. She smiled again, this time at Shugo.

"Um....good Morning Shugo. How are you this morning?" Ran asked.
She then looked at the other boy, who was still looking towards the training ground.
"Uh...um.....Hello. My name is Ran Katsura." Ran said before bowing. "May I ask your name? Are you a friend of Shugo?" she asked after standing back up.

"Oh.....Shugo, I have something for you." Ran said reaching into her bag and pulling out the bento for Shugo and the dango.

"This is the bento you had yesterday. I made a new one for you. Also, this is some dango I made." she added. "Um......I was wondering if you could taste it for me. Can you taste them for me too?" Ran told Shugo and then asked the other boy.

Realizing that the explosion was being unattended to, Omezo became increasingly worried about it.
Very quickly he bowed.
"I am very sorry," he said as he bowed deeply,"but I must be going now. I have something I must do."
He then ran off towards the training center to see what exactly was going on.
If the trainees were injured the village could be severly crippled.

Ran watched as the unfamiliar boy bowed deeply and quickly. She listened to him as he explained his situation. Ran smiled a understanding smile, nodded her head and also gave a small bow.

"It's ok. You go and do what you have to." she said before he ran off towards the training grounds.
Ran then turned and looked at Shugo.
"Shugo-kun? You don't have to go too, do you?," she asked with a hint of her wanting for him to stay and walk through the village with her.
"But, if you have to go, then go. I just thought you might want to walk through the village with me, sense we are like the only two around right now." Ran said petting Haru's as he yawned, after waking up.

"Oh, I don't have to go anywhere. That explosion sounded like it came from the training grounds, so it must be a fight. Seems kind of over the top though. Since there is no one around, I wouldn't mind going for a walk, especially if you made one of your amazing bentos!" Shugo replied. As the small white fox sleeping on Ran's arm began to awake, he stroked the fur on its forehead to wake it up some more.
"I'll carry the boxes. It's a cool day for summer today. Would you like to go to the park?"

"Oh. Ok. Yes, it did sound like it came from there. A fight? What makes you think it's a fight? They could just be practicing or something with paper bombs." Ran said looking over towards the direction of the training grounds.

When Ran heard Shugo say he wouldn't mind going for a walk with her, she nearly fainted with excitement. She was happy at the moment that no one was around. Ran held out her hand to show that she had the bentos made and ready.

"Now, Shugo, do you honestly think I would come and visit you without bringing a bento for you to eat. I remade the one you had yesterday that was destroyed. I also made some dango today. I was wondering if you could taste them for me to see if they are good." Ran said before seeing Shugo reach over and stroke the hair on Haru's forehead. "Shugo, this is Haru. Haru, this is Shugo." Haru lifted his head up and sniffed Shugo's hand and then licked it. Ran smiled. "He doesn't normally let strangers pet him like that. He must really like you or at least know that you are a friend of mine."

Ran's other pets came up to Shugo and started to sniff him. She laughed. "I guess they want to meet you too. Ok, Shugo the two Siberian huskies are Shadow and Kai. They are brothers and I have had them since they were born. And the wolf is Dark. I met him and Haru on the way to Tenpi from Suichuu. The were about to fight, but I broke it up and decided to take them with me." She said introducing them. Ran then handed Shugo the bento boxes.

"Thank you. Yes, it is a cool day and I would love to go to the park." She said smiling.

Silent, stiff, forms crept through the allies between the homes and businesses of Tenpi, searching for something. To the casual onlooker they would appear as nothing more than an everyday drunk or less fortunate, but if one looked closer the slightly gray tone of the skin would reveal the truth. Upon even closer inspection one would see that the eyes of these creatures were nothing more than hallow sockets, a faint red light glowing from deep within.
Their master, a dark clad woman, stood atop a lone building, directing her search.
Her ultimate goal was to finish this mission and be done with this cheerful little cesspool of a village before anyone took notice.
She hoped to herself that she had timed this mission properly so that the ninja of the village would be too busy to notice the abnormal amounts of dark chakra it took to control her minions.

Something tugged at her mind, a dark power greater than her own. Opening her eyes she turned to face the villages training center, the apparent source of this dark disturbance. Intrigued she began to move from roof to roof towards the building, curious to see what it held within.

”Ugh… Where on earth are all of my genin?” Zetsumei sighed loudly as she leaned on the back of the bench she was sitting on. It was almost an hour ago when the woman had arrived at the fountain to meet up with her students. She had expected them to already be there before she came, but she had not even seen at least one of them today. Was it possible they were playing hooky?

The jounin sat up in her seat after slouching for so long. She was going to wait another five minutes before she leaves to go look for them. If she ever found any of them, they in for a world of hurt. The words non-stop training came to mind as she thought of their punishment for not showing up. Cleaning out the sewage will most likely be on the list also…

After a short five minutes, the violet-eyed woman finally stood up and began to make her way down the streets. It was then when she could not help but catch something at the corner of her eye. Although she had simply walked by, Zetsumei had caught a glimpse of a suspicious grey figure in one of the alleys. Sure, it could have been just any old drunk, but something about that figure that made the woman feel that it was far from normal. It highly resembled what she would call her “human puppets.”

Huh… The one in the alley did not belong to her. If it was hers, then it would have followed her by now. The jounin usually had two or three of her puppets lurking around in the shadows all the time, just incase she wanted them to run an errand for her.

As she strolled down the street, Zetsumei shoved her hands in her pocket, which hid one of the single-handed seals she formed. A second later, two pale blurs could be seen flying above her head as they bounced off the rooftops. She had just given them an order to investigate the grey figure back at the alley, and possibly find the one who controlled it. With that order given, Zetsumei leaped onto the rooftops to do some investigating on her own.

As the dark clad woman closed in on the source of the dark power it suddenly faded, like a candle in the wind. She stopped abruptly, wondering what could have possibly happened to the dark power she had been perusing.
After a brief moment she shook herself out of this daze and tried again to focus on her mission. Her sources told her that there were several other people in this village at this very moment looking for the item she sought and she needed to be sure that she claimed it first.

Slowly exhaling she focused on her minions, seeing through their eyes. None of the worthless wretches had not so much as an iota of insight as to where this object could be.
It was time to do a bit of digging.

After leaving his mistress, a grey figure lurked through the shadows stealthily as he followed orders. This was Zetsumei’s own corpse, whom she named Ichibou. However, the woman did not give everyone in her collection a distinctive name. She named them according to the order in which they were summoned in the day. This one just happened to be first.

After doing some searching around the streets, Ichibou finally came across something worth finding in an alley. It was the corpse of a man who appeared to have been killed just recently. After his mistress sees this, she will surely assume that there may be something strange happening within the village.

Zetsumei’s living corpse continued on with his task, looking for anything else that could be suspicious. It was when he had jumped on a rooftop that he spotted a certain young woman with hair that looked like flames. She just stood there, appearing to be focused one something.

Ichibou leaped into a nearby tree, one of which was right next to the structure the woman was standing on. He simply stared at her with blank, dead eyes; watching for what she may do next.

The tall, red cloaked, figure strolled almost casually throught the streets of the village, the giant hammer slung across his back. He actually had a rather distinct purpose, but right now he could use some help.
The man had never been to the village of the sun before and was a bit lost. However, he did know that this is where his target was. The little girl he had recently saved confirmed that she has seen the strange man and his band come through here recently.
He hoped that someone would pick up at his wandering manner and ask him if he needed help.
