Main Village

This is the busiest part of Tenpigakure. Villagers are constantly moving about, entering and exiting stores, restaurants, and shops. There is also a concrete fountain at the center of these busy streets, where many come to relax on the benches or wait for their friends.

Himoto waited impaitiently by a small concrete fountain in the center of the bustling, yet small town. The fountain had been a meeting spot of squad 5 for years now.

Himoto sighed and leaned against the rim of the flowing fountain as her teammates, Ichijin and Kansou, appeared in the distance together. She twirled a small kunai round her finger as they drew closer; their hands were intertwined.

"Hey, are you two lovebirds gonna hurry up or what?!" The small red-head yelled at the couple, flailing her arms impatiently at them.

Ichijin sneered as his teammate called to them from the fountain several meters away.

"You think she'd fly away with how hard she's flailing her arms..."

Kansou giggled at Ichijin's comment as he looked ahead at their only female teammember. She sure was impatient. Anyone would think by now that she would be more patient with them after five or so years.

"Hi Himoto! Sorry we're late!" Kansou said with a wave and a smile. Before getting to close to her, he stopped at the site of her holding a kunai. He knew better than to get near her when she was angry like this.

Ichijin stepped infront of the brunette and grabbed the kunai from Himoto's twirling finger.

"Hey." she snapped, crossing her arms of her chest as Her teammate twirled his newly aqquired kunai infront of her.

"What? You should be more careful." Ichijn smirked and stuffed the small blade into his thigh holister.

"whatever." She rolled her eyes. "Anyways, we're due for a mission in an hour. We should get going."

Kansou felt safer now that Ichijin took the weapon away from Himoto. He walked over to the fountain next to her and sat on the ledge. The breeze was blowing some of the mist at him, and he wiped the water off of his face.

"So what's the mission for today?" Kansou asked.

Ichijin shrugged.

"Ehh, just a simple D-rank. Gotta help with this season's crops." She pushed her bangs back behind her ears and sighed. "Nothing exciting lately."

Ichijin plopped down on the ledge next to his boyfriend. The mission location was only a half mile down the road, leading out of the village. They had a half hour or so before they had to leave.

Somewhere else in the crowded area of the village was the red-headed tomboy. In her arms, she held a paper bag, which was filled with some onigiri she brought not too long ago. It was still warm and steamy, fresh out of the rice cooker. She reached into the bag and took out one rice ball, biting into it as she walked down the streets.

"Hmm.. I wonder if the other two checked the list yet. she asked herself with her mouth full. She swallowed and took another bite. "Knowing those two, they're probably more excited than I am to see who their team members are."

Meanwhile, at the fountain...

"That's great!" Kansou said as he clapped his hands together. He did not mind doing this mission, really. When it comes to things such as crops, he was pretty good at it, since he had the affinity of earth and all.

"If we all finish early, maybe we can do something interesting later!"

"Now that sounds kind of insulting Sayuri." Karu said landing a bit to her side after jumping off the roof path he was on. "Not happy to have me and Minato?" He said sitting down on a near by bench.

Sayuri found a shadow looming over her as she heard a voice speaking to her. Finishing up the onigiri in her hand, she looked up to find no one other than Otikaru. She rubbed her hands together a bit to get some of the sticky rice off of her palm before speaking, her mouth slightly full.

"Now you're just jumping to conclusions, Otikaru. I never said I wasn't happy to have you two on the same team with me." Sayuri said before swallowing whatever was left in her mouth. "I guess I was simply saying that you two were probably more energetic than I am, especially with Minato."

"Ah." He said putting his hands behind his head. "Well, I couldn't ask for a better combo with you and Minato on my team." He said grinning. "It's the perfect mixture for training." He added nodding. "Not to mention, I can try and get my sword repaired cheaper now by Minato's grandfather." He said with a smirk.

"Something interesting, eh?" Ichijin quirked an eyebrow and elbowed Kansou in the side.

"Oh god." Himoto stood up and shook her head. "Well, I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat before we have to be at the farmland."

Minato's leaving the weapon's shop to go to the Nisshoukage's Office to check who will be his teammates. As he's leaving the shop, Minato called out, "I'll be back old man! I gotta check who my teammates are!"

An elderly head popped out and told him, "Yeah, yeah. Hurry up and come back so we can continue your training. You do need your weapon you know."

"Yeah, yeah Gramps. I will, eventually...." He muttered, and started to walk away.

"I heard that! I maybe old but I can still kick your ass. And you forgot your keys!" He yelled and chucked them at Minato.

"Ow! Sonofa...jeez I'll be back!" He said, rubbing the back of his head and putting his keys in his scarf.

"Your child is growing up Miko, just like you too. I hope you're watching him," He started, "my daughter..."

And went back inside to work.

Back with Minato, he continues to walk around the village to the office until his stomach began to rumble.

"Might as well eat first, It's not good for me to have an empty stomach!" He grinned and looked for a place to eat.

Sayuri laughed slightly. She did not know if Otikaru knew yet, but if he ever met Minato's grandfather, the old man was definately not cheap. Sayuri was the kind of person that only stuck to the basic shinobi tools, and the bombs she is currently learning how to make from books that once belonged to her mother. She rolled her paper bag closed and locked her hands behind her, walking off and expecting Otikaru to follow.

"Well, we're supposed to meet up at the Academy to see our sensei soon." she said as she looked ahead. She could see the roof of the Academy above the shops and other small buildings. "We should probably go get Minato on the way there. I bet he's in one of the sweet shops."

Back at the fountain...

"H-huh?" Kansou blinked at his two team mates. Was it something he said? After a short moment, he finally got the idea and began shaking is head as if he were trying to spin it really fast or something.

"You perverts! I didn't mean that!" he exclaimed. His face was turning a light shade of pink.

"Oh, I know what you ment." Ichijin laughed slightly and stood up from his fountain perch. "C'mon, we might as well go get some breakfast, too." He held out his hand for Kansou.

Himoto laughed to herself over what Kansou had said and the reply he got. The two have been together for nearly 2 years now, and Kansou still gets flustered even at the slightest amount of pervercy in Ichijin's usually thoughtless comments. It was really quite humorous to watch.

She pondered over what to eat. Onigiri was always good.

Half way down the street she notcied a couple rookies conversing. "Hey newbs~" She greeted playfully to the Genin.

"Being called newbs by a group of Chunnin going farming. How sad is that."[/b] He said standing up with his hands still behind his head. [b] "Have fun with the weeds boys." He said giving them a little smirk as he started walking after Sayuri. "You walk fast for short gal." He said catching up with her.
