Outskirts

The outskirts of the village surrounds the main, crowded area of Tenpi. Inside of the great wall that surrounds Tenpi is where most homes are located.

"I'm leaving! Ja ne!"

At one of the many homes located in the outskirts of the village, a red headed girl was walking out on her front porch, getting ready to leave to the main area of the village. Her azure eyes looked up at the cloudless sky as her ponytail waved slightly in the light breeze. Shielding her eyes from the sun's light, this girl, Sayuri, knew it was going to be yet another beautiful day at the village.

Brushing off a few strands of her long bangs away from her face, Sayuri jumped over her porch steps on was on her way to the Nisshoukage's office. She had just graduated from the Academy as a genin, and the new graduates should be placed into squads of three soon. As she walked down the street, while waving to a couple of her friendly neighbors, this rookie wondered what kind of people would end up being in her squad.

Long after the encounter with the new genin, Ichijin and Kansou were well on their way to the farm. As he waved at a few friendly villagers they happened to run by, Kansou looked ahead to find that they were nearing their destination.

"Hey Ichi, I think we're here." he said. After a short moment, he stopped in front of a wooden fence, which surrounded an enormous field, which supplied the village with most of its crops. Kansou stepped over the short fence before finding a short old man with a rake in the center of the field.

"Hello? We're here for the mission!" he called out.

The old man nodded and hobbled over to open the gate on the fence. He explained to the two boys whichs crops needs to be harvested and which needed to be planted. He handed them a few tools and hobbled back over to his rake, waving them off into the vast feilds.

"Here, i'll take care of harvesting the peas, carrots, and turnips for now." Ichijin picked up a basket from the feild and ran to the middle of the feild he ment to harvest first; the peas. He set the basket down 10 feet infront of were he stood, and finished a few hand seals.

A small whirlwind spun about the feild, pulling the ripe pea pods from the stalk, whirling them around in the air before dumping them in the basket infront of Ichijin.

Himoto ran and lept of the fence to the feilds. Darn Ichijin left her alone, making her late for the mission. She ran through the feilds, avoilding stalks of corn and low bushes of herbs. "Kansou~" Himoto yelled to her teammate as she made her way over to him. "You guys left me." She spoke irritatedly.

Kansou watched as his team mate harvested the crops in his own method. Ichijin was pretty good at using his wind based techniques for things such as this. He always looked up to him, plus, with his way of harvesting, it made things go faster and easier.

Picking up one of the baskets from the ground, Kansou decided to help harvesting the other crops before planting anything. The easy part should be done last. Before Kansou could do anything, he heard someone calling out his name. He turned around to find that Himoto has finally arrived.

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. Ichi wanted to get here early." he said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I guess I should have called you before we left."

"Yeah that would've been nice." Himoto said sarcastically. "Eh, whatever." She walked past Kansou's spot in the feild to pick up her basket. "I'll go help Ichijin harvest."

Whirlwinds whirred about the plot, pulling ripe vegetables from the main plants, and setting them down in a large basket set a few feet away from Ichijin's feet. "Almost done." He spoke to himself, carefully keeping mind to the chakra he was expelling.

Dust from the ground began to settle as the silver haired teen finished, walking over to his basket, now full of peas and tomatoes.

"You're late." He spoke monotonisly.

"You're a jerk." Himoto said back. She leaned to one side with her hand on her hip.

He made a small 'hmph' sound and walked off past her with his basket full of produce, leaving her to a plot full of cucumber and various other plants.

Kansou was going through the strawberry bushes, carefully, but quickly, picking out the strawberries. He usually picked the delicate plants, since Ichijin's wind jutsu will probably ruin the berries, and Himoto probably does not know how to pick strawberries. There was actually s special way to pick these berries. People that do not know how to pick them would just try and yanked them off the stems, ripping off the top of the strawberry in the process. Kansou was holding them in a certain way, and twisting them off. He usually held three or four strawberries in his hand before carefully placing them into the basket. Eventually, his basket was almost filled with the ripe berries.

Ichijin set his basket down infront of the barn where the old man sat, repairing a few older baskets at his workbench. He directed the boy to take the basket to his wife instead, where she would seperate them and place them in appropriate bins for selling.

He wandered back into the vast feilds to find Kansou in a small patch of strawberry plants. He watched him silently as the brunette delicately picked the ripe red berries.

"Do you like strawberries?" Ichijin asked gently with a smirk, as he walked up behind the smaller boy.

After picking a few more strawberries, Kansou wiped his forehead with his sleeve. It was always pretty warm in a field like this, especially when he had to keep bending over to pick out which berries to twist off of the stems. With a small sigh to himself, he looked over to his basket which was already full. He was about to pick it up to place them where ever he was told to put them when Ichijin came by with a question.

"Of course I like them, who doesn't?" Kansou answered as he looked up at his partner. "Why?"

Ichijin shrugged and walked up to Kansou, reaching out to take the load of berries from him.

"I'll take these for you. You can start planting." He smiled, taking the basket from his boyfriend.

"Thanks Ichi!" Kansou replied as he returned the smile. Then, standing on the tip of his toes, he reached up and pecked Ichijin lightly on the lips.

Ichijin returned the kiss and headed off to deposite the strawberries. He set aside a small bushel of berries for later. Something tells him he'll find them useful later on.

Himoto, in the other part of the feild, just finished up her harvesting and scurried over to the farmer's wife with her two baskets of produce, then returned to the feild. She ran up behind Ichijin and tackled him, knocking him to the ground.

"What the hell, Himo?" Ichijin cried, sitting on the ground. Himoto laughed and stuck out her tounge. She turned and ran to the protection of Kansou's side before Ichijin could get to his feet.

After Ichijin headed off, Kansou had gone to the other side of the field to start planting some seeds. This will not take too long; probably just a couple of minutes or so. After forming the first handseal for his technique, he heard the sound of foot steps getting louder and louder as someone neared him. The chuunin turned to find Himoto running towards him. Was there something going on? Soon, Kansou found Ichijin sitting on the ground far behind her.

"Eh? Himoto, did you tackle Ichi again?" he asked.

"Maaaybe~" Himoto cooed, catching her breath by Kansou's side. "THAT WAS FOR LEAVING ME." She yelled back in Ichijin's direction.

Ichijin stood up and brushed himself off. God, that woman could be so annoying. Whenever she did something to annoy him like that, she always ran to Kansou's side for protection. The three of them knew all too well Ichi could never do anything mean or harmful, no matter how much they diserved it, if Kansou was nearby. (kansou would make sure ichijin was alone that night.)

He walked over to his two teammates in the middle of the empty plot and handed kansou a few sacks of seeds given to him to plant by the farmer. "You know what to do with these."

Kansou nodded as he just stuffed the sacks of seeds into his pocket for now. Stepping away a few times, he found a clear spot to do what he did best. He made a few hand seals before crouching down, slamming his palm on the dirt. The area in front of him shook slightly as a long ditch drew itself on the ground, about three inches deep. Kansou stood up, looking at what he just did to the ground. Reaching into his pocket, he ripped open a pack of seeds and tossed them into the ditch.
